How Discount Calculation Works
A discount reduces the original price by a percentage. The sale price is calculated as: Sale Price = Original Price × (1 - Discount/100). When two successive discounts apply, the second discount is applied to the already-reduced price, not the original — making the effective total discount less than the sum of both percentages.
For example, 20% off then 10% off a ₹1000 item gives ₹720, not ₹700. The effective discount is 28%, not 30%. This tool instantly computes both scenarios.
